My most favirote thing was the amazing race because we get to go on the computers and we get smarter.

Our Learning Log

This week the Year 4’s went to the Otago Museum for the Museum Sleepover! First we went and put our bags away at Discovery Pad, then we had some free time in Discovery World. Then we went into the butterfly house, and it was twenty eight degrees - it was soooo hot! Then we went back to Discovery World and had afternoon tea in the Discovery Pad. Then we went up to the Discovery Pad and we listened to an Ancient Egypt story about how Mummy’s were invented.

This week we enjoyed doing the amazing race as we went to Spain. The year 4s went to Otago Museum for sleepover. My favourite thing was the year 4s going to the museum sleepover and the year 3s staying and doing work.

Year Four Museum sleep-over

A couple of day ago the year fours went to the Museum for a sleep-over. They had to bring their  sleeping bags, pillows and clothes. The year fours went to the Museum by bus. When we got there we went up to Discovery Pad. Jo had to be dressed up as a Mummy. 

Museum Sleepover

On Tuesday, half of year 4s went to the Otago Museum for a sleepover with Mr Murray and Miss Benwell. We got back the next day at half past ten and went to Miss Benwells class and watched movies all day. At two thirty that day the other half of the year 4s. I went in the second group on Wednesday. It was a lot of fun and I had a great time.

This week, Year 4s went to the museum sleepover in Discovery World. We went to the tropical forest to see the butterfly house. We played table soccer with room10. It was totally cool and I had a lot of fun. We have also been working on the Amazing Race where we have been on Spain.

On Wednesday I went on the year 4 sleep over!!!!!!!!!. It was quite scary when they were telling the story but not when we were walking. When we were doing our countries my country was Congo. I loved wearing a nappy made out of newspaper for our song and our sport was called Nugby. The rules were 1. only pass forward or else you get a smack on the bum. 2. you can not run with the ball or it is a penalty.

This week the year 4's had a museum sleep-over it was lots of fun. This week we in Spain for the Amazing Race.

My learning log

This week we have been doing the amazing race. Me and blake are winning because we are just about finished Spain. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Year 4s went to a sleepover at the museum. Someone there got mummy-fide. We had Miss Leov and she read us a story then made a giant and a background.

This week, we did the amazing race week three (Spain). The year four kids went to the museum sleepover. They did a night walk and went to discovery world.

Our Class Pet

A very big thank you to Jades' Mum as Room 11 now has a class pet. This is Mr Snuggles (named by popular vote). He is a couple of days old. We will put regular updates on how he is going on the blog.

Stuart and the Four Lions

Once upon a time there lived a little boy named Stuart and 4 lion's. Stuart lived with his Mother in a poor house. The lion's lived in a cave.

One morning, the four lion's went to have breakfast. But they all thought it was disgusting so they went to catch some more food. They left their food in the cave. Over at stuart's house his mum wanted him to go and find some food so he went off walking. He found the lion's meat in the lion's cave. He took the meat back to his house.

A little while later the lion's came back with no food, so they had to eat the food they already had. But it was all gone. They sniffed him down but lost his scent no sooner than a minute later. The lion's went home poor, while Stuart and his Mum lived happily ever after.

Hansel and Gretel

Once upon a time there lived two twins, their parents, and a woodcutter. The twins names were Hansel and Gretel. They lived in the deepest and darkest part of the woods.

Every day, they always went looking for berries. They were very lucky if they found forty raspberries and twenty blueberries a day. Boysenberries were the rarest, if they lucky they would find some.

Gretel always left faces on the tree bark so they could find their way back home, but the woodcutter kept chopping down the trees! So one day the twins got lost. They came to a house that was made out of bread. They stepped inside then they fell into a cage. Suddenly, a witch came out and fed them till they were fat.

After a day or so they got so fat they couldn't fit in the cage anymore and it exploded like a balloon popping. They fell to the ground and ran to the lake. They jumped and floated home. The witch came after them but she drowned and died.

They arrived home and their parents had wondered where they were and now why they were so fat. The woodcutter promised he would never again cut down any trees that had faces on them and they lived happily ever after...THE END!

This week we enjoyed learning about the Amazing Race where we visited Norway. We have enjoyed learning about vikings. Something new we learned was that vikings fought lots.                

Feel Inside (and stuff like that)

Last week most of us did Kapa Haka at the Edgar Centre with lots of other schools. Jade's lamb also came to school.

This week we really enjoyed learning about the Amazing Race. We learned a new song called "Feel Inside" by Flight of the Conchords.

Last week we started our new topic the Amazing Race. The Amazing Race is where we do different activities for each country we go to. We go to a different places each week and have to complete 

different activities. We do the activities on the laptops. 

Last week we did USA and we had to get a picture of the Guggenheim Museum Art Gallery in New York. We had to get a picture of the museum and a picture of one of the paintings, which we had to re-create in KidPix. That was super fun.

This week we were in Norway and it was very fun. We learnt about the vikings. We played "Dig it up" and "Viking Quest".

This week, we did the Amazing Race week two. We played the "Dig it up" game and "Viking Quest" in The Amazing Race. We learnt about Odin, the norse ruler of the gods. Codie learnt about the viking weapons and how they made the ships.

On Monday, we learnt a new song called "Feel Inside" by Flight of the Conchords. We watched a movie about Hansel and Gretel then we made our own verson of a fairy tale.

We are learning about the Amazing Race. Last week we went to the USA and this week we went to Norway. We are doing it on the Laptops. We had to get a picture then recreate it using Kidpix. It is interesting and lots of fun.

Last week we performed our Kapa Haka at the Edgar Centre.  The amazing race has been fun this week because we learned about the Vikings in Norway. Mrs Maguire taught us a new song called "Feel Inside" by Flight of the Conchords".

Last week we performed our Kapa Haka at the Pacific Island festival, which was at the Edgar Centre.

For writing we are doing fairy tales and rewriting them, it was awesome.

We have been doing the Amazing Race for our topic. It is really fun because we get to do lots of cool activities on the computer. We are looking forward to finding out more about other countries.

Last week we performed at the Edgar center for Kapa Haka. We were the second best school for Friday's performance - it was great.

This week we have enjoyed doing the amazing race for topic. It has been fun because learnt about Norway. We got to play two games called "dig it up" and "viking quest", that taught us about the Vikings.

We also learnt this new song called "Feel Inside (and stuff like that) by flight of the conchords.

The Amazing Race - Week 2

This week we've moved on from New York and landed in Norway, where we learned about the Vikings! There are links on our blog to "Viking Quest" and "Dig it up".

The Amazing Race

Our current topic is The Amazing Race. We are racing around different parts of the world on the internet completing activities along the way...

In week one we visited the United Stated and stopped off at the famous art gallery the "Guggenheim". We then used command+shift+4 to take a photo of the Guggenheim, of a painting, and used "Kidpix" to make our own "copy" of the painting. We will publish these shortly...

Jade's Pet Lamb

This is my pet lamb. She is 5 days old and super cute. She is like an orphan because her Mum had 3 lambs but can only look after 2 so we are looking after her.

During the day she goes out into a pen then she sleeps inside at night. She wears nappies when she is inside. We were feeding her every 4 hours now its down to 4 times a day.

I wish I could fly,

Our Learning Log

This week in room 11, we had an Olympic fun-day. Jade was in China and Morgan was in Russia. It was fun. The games we played were gumboot throwing and ping pong. In the games you had to verse the other team so it is kind of a competition. It was great fun.

This week we had cross country. Ryan came third! and Marcus came seventeenth! It was a sunny day and it was fun! We made a big sculpture made out of wire and coated it with news paper and tin foil. Me and Ryan made a fencer.
